Step 1: Install the app
Add Cretask from the Slack app directory and pick the workspace it should connect to. A workspace owner has to approve the install once. After that anyone on the team can link their own Slack identity to their Cretask account from the app's home tab, which is what lets assignments land on the right person.
Step 2: Capture from a message
Hover any message, open the shortcut menu and choose Add to Cretask. The message text becomes the task description, the author becomes the requester, and the permalink is attached so the original conversation is one click away. Pick a project and an assignee in the dialog, or leave both blank and triage later from your inbox.
Step 3: Route the noise
Map each Slack channel to a project so captured tasks land somewhere sensible by default. Channels that generate a lot of small requests can post a daily digest instead of a message per change, which keeps a busy channel readable. Direct messages stay private to you and never post back anywhere.
Step 4: Close the loop
When a task moves to done, Cretask replies in the original thread so the person who asked finds out without chasing. Reassignments and due date changes can post too, or stay silent, per channel. The point is that the answer arrives where the question was asked.
